Would you like to learn to run?

Running is a fabulous way to feel better both mentally and physically. Whilst some people may lace up their trainers and head out of the door with ease, many women need the support and motivation of a group and a coach to help them build their running confidence and fitness. At SLJ we help with that with our beginner jogging courses.

If you’d like to learn to run and need the support of others, why not join our Complete Beginner Jogging course - it starts on October 4th 9.15-10.15am and runs for 8 weeks.


Each beginner jogging session lasts about an hour - but don’t worry, you certainly aren’t running all that time! We meet at Hollybush Recreation ground where you can park free, and at the end of the run you can enjoy a nice hot cuppa in the cafe, chatting to your new running friends!

Jogging or Running - what is the difference?

To be honest, there isn’t much difference between them , but jogging tends to be a bit slower - so that’s how we start, with just 30 seconds jogging and 30 seconds walking. We slowly increase the amount of time you are jogging over your time with us.

Who is this Beginner Jogging course for?

This course isn’t suitable for everyone - we have designed it specifically for you if….

👉 you have decided you want to get fitter and feel healthier by exercising outside!

👉 you are complete beginner and want to learn to jog but you want start very slowly

👉 you prefer to be coached in a friendly group rather than one to one

👉 you need the motivation of group and an experienced coach to help you

👉 you love being outside - even if it’s cold and wet!

👉 you’d like to be comfortable covering 5k either jogging or power walking
